So you need to get your pup groomed? Where to start? Who to choose? Salon? Mobile? In-Home? So many options and no answer is wrong it just may not be ideal for your situation. Things to consider are:
1. Do you have an anxious dog? Perhaps he was a rescue and is skittish around new people/dogs
2. Are you concerned about a loud fast paced environment?
3. Is your dog a senior or special needs?
4. Do you want your dog to have playtime with other dogs?
I decided to change my approach to grooming. I wanted my dogs to be calm and as comfortable as possible. Working in my client's homes is the best way to achieve that goal. I had a salon and still work part time for some of my clients in my husband's pet store but it doesn't make me happy. I love to groom. Why? Because I get to connect with my dog one on one. I don't have a busy salon phone ringing, customers checking in and out, retail customers, etc. to deal with. My one and only priority is the dog I am currently grooming.
So how do you know if in-home grooming is right for you? Because I'm telling you it is. Hee hee just kidding. If you are tired of driving to and from a salon to drop off. If you are concerned about your dog being kept in a cage for several hours. If you are worried about possible infection from other dogs. If you want your dog to be comfortable and calm. These are things you receive with a mobile groomer and more so with an in-home groomer. When I come into the home your dog is able to stay within their comfort zone which I have found keeps them relaxed. The Clipper Vac attachment I use also sucks up the hair as it's cut which helps to keep the dog clean and also your home. Win-Win!
If you are wanting to try a new take on grooming your fur baby in-home grooming is probably a good choice for you. What do you think?
